Just a couple of minutes drive to downtown Southwest Harbor for dining, shopping and communing with the locals and visitors alike. Catch the free Island Explorer Bus right near the cottage, which takes you all over Mount Desert Island. Pick up some live lobster at Beals, at the Southwest Harbor pier.
Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, lake swimming, carriage road walks, whale watch and other boat tours, deep sea fishing! Sail on the Margaret Todd, take a boat tour on the Sea Princess, visit the Abbe Museum, explore the Bass Harbor Lighthouse area, enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at The Causeway Club or Kebo Valley Golf course, play tennis. Nearby kids activities include a water park, miniature golf, beaches, tour boat rides and lots of ice cream shops!
