The south western side of Mount Desert Island offers visitors a more authentic Maine coast experience. A bit less "touristy", Bass Harbor and Tremont feature quiet neighborhoods and a harbor jam-packed with all kinds of commercial fishing boats. This is a Maine coastal community and a wonderful spot for your home base, while visiting Acadia National Park. Explore nearby Acadia walking trails and the Bass Harbor Headlight, kayak up the Harbor Marsh and picnic at the Seawall Picnic area. Frog Pond Cottage is an adorable little cottage with lovely gardens and its own little "frog pond". The Pond is visited by all kinds of birds, wildlife and, of course, frogs! The peepers at night are a delight nature's song! This cottage is open for weekly rentals year-round.

Frog Pond Cottage is located just a few minutes drive to several walking traills. It's about an 8 minute drive to downtown Southwest Harbor, about 30 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor, and a 27 minute drive to the Cadillac Mountain entrance to Acadia's Park Loop Road.

This two-bedroom, one-bathroom 2-story cottage features a kitchen, dining area, sitting/games area, living room (with full size sleep sofa) and full bathroom (and laundry) on the main level. The second floor features 1 queen bedroom and 1 double bedroom.

The spacious deck provides nice outdoor space, overlooking the garden, lawn and pond!

Bar Harbor, Bass Harbor, Southwest Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, lake swimming, carriage road walks, whale watch and other boat tours, deep sea fishing! Sail on the Margaret Todd, visit the Abbe Museum, explore the Bass Harbor Lighthouse and Seawall Picnic area, enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at The Causeway Club or Kebo Valley Golf course, play tennis. Nearby kids activities include a water park, miniature golf, beaches, tour boat rides and lots of ice cream shops!
