Gray Barn Carriage House is located in Bass Harbor, a hearty seacoast fishing community on Mount Desert Island. This renovated carriage house enjoys glorious views of the harbor, sunsets and has private shore access. Kayak, fish, and paddle board in the sheltered harbor waters (the well-known Thurston's Lobster Pound and dock, across the harbor, is an easy kayak). From the shore enjoy lovely views of Western Mountain. The property is just minutes from the Bass Harbor Headlight (an Acadia attraction) and several hiking/walking trails, including Ships Harbor, Wonderland, Seawall Picnic area, Hio Road Trail. Take the Swan's Island Ferry for a bike trip to Swan's Island. Enjoy a cruise with Island Cruises and see the Island from the water! And you're just a 7 minute drive to the village of Southwest Harbor for shopping and fine dining! And 25 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor. Enjoy the deck for BBQing and water views, as well as the front yard on the water side of the carriage house.

The classic carraige house features many windows facing the harbor, with spectacular views guests are sure to enjoy! Enter the Carraige House on the main level and take the stairs up to the living space on the 2nd and 3rd floors. On the 2nd floor is the kitchen, dining area (overlooking the water), cozy living room, full bathroom and king bedroom. On the 3rd floor is a spacious open room/loft with a king bed, a double bed and sitting area. It enjoys lovely harbor views!

Carriage House features a vestibule with enough room for 2 e-bikes, with a plug.

Access the shore by walking down to a small open grassy meadow via a small gravel driveway. It is shared with The Fisherman's Cape, located next door to Gray Barn Carriage House (as well as a couple neighbors).

There are several Acadia hiking trails within a few minutes drive from the cottage, as well as the Seawall Picnic area. The closest entrance to Acadia's Park Loop Road is about a 25 minute drive (Cadillac Mountain entrance). Several well-known local seafood restaurants are just minutes away!

In addition to Acadia National Park other activities in the area include swimming, boating, hiking, deep-sea fishing, whale watch tours, public golf courses, water park, miniature golf, lighthouse tours, and the Abbe Museum!
