Sound Side is a BRAND NEW cottage located on Sargeant Drive, in the town of Mount Desert. This stunning cottage is elegantly decorated and well-appointed—much attention to the details! The living space is on the 2nd floor and features a spacious, beautiful covered deck in the rear. The lower level/garage space allows for bike storage and has a ping pong table, card table, mini-fridge and TV. Surrounded by lovely woods and lawn space for yard games like cornhole, horseshoes and badminton! Sound Side is a lovely home base for your Acadia National Park/Mount Desert Island vacation!

The cottage is walkable to Suminsby Park (and picnic area) with gorgeous scenic vistas of Somes Sound, as well as shore access (though mostly for the hardy who can traverse the rocks!). The Giant Slide trail head is a half mile from the cottage (very walkable), which gives access to Sargent Mt., Parkman Mt., Bald Mt. and carriage roads. Parkman Mountain trail parking lot and Carriage Road access is just less than 2 miles away, and very reachable by bicycle - no fighting to find parking! Downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia's Park Loop Road are about 8 or 9 minutes drive, and Northeast Harbor just a 5 minute drive away! it's a very central location to enjoy all that the Island has to offer!

All the living space is located on the 2nd floor. There is a gorgeous, spacious chef's kitchen, with counter/bar dining and a nice living room with a gas fireplace for those chilly evenings. The hallway takes you to two king bedrooms. The master bedroom has a private ensuite bathroom with spa-like soaking bath tub and separate shower, as well as a spacious walk-in closet. The second king bedroom features a dual access bathroom (from hall and from the bedroom) with shower.

In the lower level/garage space there is also a half bathroom with laundry facilities.

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer a multitude of activities, including whale watch tours, lighthouse tours, hiking, biking, kayaking, museum tours, gardens and of course fine dining and delicious seafood!

Note: due to stairs leading to the living space the owners feel the property may not be appropriate for children under 10 years of age.
