The Station

The ultimate Maine coast vacation experience is staying on an outer island. There are many small islands situated just off of Mount Desert Island (home of Bar Harbor). Islesford (or Little Cranberry Island) is one of our favorites. The Station was once a U.S. Life Saving Station, now a spectacularly renovated vacation home, with extensive rocky shorefrontage and indescribable views of open ocean, Acadia Mountains, and other islands. From this southeast point enjoy sunrise AND sunset views, explore the varied 2 acre area with granite shorelines, ledges, rocks and even sunbathe on the sandy beach. It even features a lighthouse-like tower with 360° views!

Ferries from Northeast Harbor and Southwest Harbor access the island five times daily (about a 45-minute ride). The small island features the Islesford Dock Restaurant, several shops and a museum, a post office, and library. Groceries are delivered from Northeast Harbor or neighboring Great Cranberry Island. Experience true island living in this gorgeous, luxury property!

The 4 bedroom cottage features a king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, another bedroom with two twins and a room to overlook up in the tower! The owner permits a maximum guest capacity of 6 (due to septic system limitations). All the bedrooms are on the upper floor(s). There is a bathroom with shower on the second floor.

The main level features a living room, family room, dining area, billiards room with wood-burning granite fireplace and well-appointed kitchen, as well as bathroom with shower. Nearly all rooms have wonderful oceanviews!

Amenities include washer/dryer, diswasher, microwave, toaster, coffemaker, satellite TV, WIFI (high speed Asurion), gas BBQ grill, outdoor furnishings. Also available is a vehicle to use on the Island during your visit. Click here for more complete list of household items/amenities.

Bring your bikes and ride around the Island, walk in the village and enjoy the ultimate private vacation with family and friends in this very unique cottage. Take the Ferry to Northeast Harbor in the morning, where you can pick up the free Island Explorer bus (that takes you to Bar Harbor and into Acadia) for a fun day off the Island.

Due to the nature of the retaining rock wall, tide condtitions, and fog, the owner has asked that all party members be above the age of 12 for safety reasons.

Pets are not permitted.
