Bar Harbor Acadia Cottage Rentals, Inc. came about initially, 20 years ago, while I was renting out my own four vacation cottages. Friends and relatives who also had cottages available for weekly rentals contacted me to assist them. We are a full-time vacation rental agency and love working with people who are planning their summer vacations. We all feel this is the most beautiful place in this country to visit! It may have something to do with the fact that we were born here, and our family was the second family to settle on Mount Desert Island in 1761, in Somesville. It sure is a beautiful place to live and visit!
2026 has brought some changes to our little office! Gail Gee has retired (anxious to spend time with her toddler grandchildren). Replacing her is Danielle Emmons, Miles' wife. We are very excited for to be working with us!
We know it can be difficult booking a vacation rental online. We'll try to be as honest and helpful as we can when describing the features of, and recommending, a property to rent. Feel free to call us or email us with questions about any property, or about the area. Between the four of us, we're pretty knowledgeable about the wonderful activities our area has to offer. We are answering emails 7 days a week. We're in the office Monday-Friday (10am-3pm), and do answer or return phone calls on the weekends, too.
