The Ledges
The Ledges is a lovely, somewhat secluded wooded retreat (a long driveway takes you away from the main road), with inspiring hillside rock ledges abutting the rear of the house! Just beautiful to look at and even explore! A newly built house, it features very comfortable accommodations, including a gorgeous kitchen, cozy living room with gas fireplace, and spacious bedrooms in a sunny, well-lit environment. It’s located about 10 minutes out of downtown Bar Harbor and is just a 7 minute drive to the main entrance to Acadia National Park. Nearby is the “Northeast Creek”, a popular kayaking and photography spot. It’s also just a couple miles from the Hadley Point Beach—a great location!
Guests enter the house on the lower level. Through the “mud room” is a den bedroom with two twin beds (daybed and trundle) as well as some exercise gear (yoga mat, 5 & 10 lb weights, some exercise bands). On this level there is also a bathroom with shower.
Upstairs, on the main level, is the living room (with lovely gas fireplace), kitchen and dining area (there is a dining table seating 4 and seating at the kitchen bar for 4). There are also two queen bedrooms and full bathroom on this floor.
The upper level features the master king bedroom and gorgeous master bathroom. There is a gas fireplace is this bedroom and a small balcony off the bedroom overlooking the ledges!
Amenities include cable TVs (in living room, master bedroom, den bedroom), A/C in bedrooms (except lower level twins), WIFI, washer/dryer, dishwasher, gas BBQ, linens, parking for 4+ cars, microwave, coffeemaker, and outdoor deck furnishings.
Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer visitors a variety of activities, including hiking, biking, boating, lake swimming, carriage road walks, horseback riding, deep sea fishing! Visit the Abbe Museum, enjoy a whale watch boat ride, take a Jackson Lab visitors tour, enjoy tea and popovers at the Jordan Pond House, golf at a PGA top-rated course, play tennis. Kids activities include water park, miniature golf, beaches, and lots of ice cream shops!
