Thundermist Cove
The best things about Maine are the beautiful woods and wonderful shoreline. Thundermist Cove offers guests both of those special experiences! New to us for 2021, this sweet cottage is very private, right on a small ocean cove. The property actually abuts Acadia National Park land and across the cove is also Acadia land. So you have the cove all to yourself!
The tide comes in and out so there are plenty of opportunities to explore the pebbly shore. Kayaking from the shore is excellent! Nature abounds: with an eagle’s nest just a few hundred feet away! There is a spacious front yard and fun woods for games of hide and seek! Thundermist Cove is located on a private road, just 15 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor, and 12 minutes from the main entrance to Acadia’s Park Loop Road! This is a lovely property for up to 11 guests and a doggy!
The main level of the cottage features a TV/den room, kitchen (with lovely new granite countertops), dining area, living room, 1/2 bathroom, a king bedroom (with TV) and a full bathroom. There is a spacious deck accessed by the living room and dining area, with outdoor dining table, BBQ and seating.
The 2nd floor features a king bedroom, a queen bedroom and a large bedroom with 5 twins beds. From this bedroom is access to an “attic” with a ping pong table! There one full bathroom (connection) also on the 2nd floor.
A couple of the bedrooms enjoy water views through the woods!
Amenities include 3 cable TVs, dishwasher, washer/dryer, WIFI, BBQ, AC in all bedrooms except queen, outdoor play set. Guests have use of the garage.
Downtown Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes away.You can also catch the free Island Explorer bus (check exploreacadia.com for this year’s route) that may run by the end of the road. The main entrance to Acadia National Park is just 12 minutes away. Enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, golf, tennis, boating, nature walks, beaching, deep sea fishing, whale watching, museums, shopping and, of course, terrific dining choices.
