Old Point Seaside

The “quiet side” of Mount Desert Island is a treasure for those seeking close proximity to Acadia National Park but prefer the road less traveled! Old Point Seaside is a wonderful cabin RIGHT on the shores of Bernard, just across the bay from Bass Harbor. The spectacular shoreline is just a few feet from the glorious deck overhanging the dramatic rocks (which even have a sort of “Thunder Hole” formation with water and surf). Nearly 6 acres and TWO private rock beaches one either side of the cabin provide hours and hours of family enjoyment! Kayak, swim, fish, beachcomb and enjoy breathtaking ocean vistas from the VERY private property. Just a couple minutes from the popular Thurston’s Lobster Pound, 10 minutes from downtown Southwest Harbor, and 30 minutes from Bar Harbor, this cozy cabin is convenient to all the attractions of Mount Desert Island, while offering a beautiful private retreat!

The cabin features a modern kitchen, dining area (with amazing water view), living room with wood burning fireplace and sleeper sofa. There are 3 bedrooms: 2 queens and a small room with twin bunkbeds (note: this room has an open ceiling). There is one full bath.

There is also a wonderful deck overlooking the ocean with plenty of seating and a sun awning.

Amenities include dishwasher, microwave oven, cable TV with DVD player, washer/dryer, gas BBQ, WIFI. There is a landline phone (and cell service is okay).

Mount Desert Island and Acadia National Park offer a multitude of activities, including whale watch tours, lighthouse tours, hiking, biking, kayaking, museum tours, gardens and of course fine dining and plenty of delicious seafood! On the “quiet side” visit the Bass Harbor lighthouse, Seawall picnic area, the Seal Cove Auto Museum, and ride the ferry to Swan’s Island for the day!
