Echo Lakeside

Being lakeside is always a pleasant way to spend a vacation! Echo Lakeside is a sweet little cottage right on the shores of Echo Lake. Nestled in the shady trees, and just 30 feet from the lake’s edge, Echo Lakeside provides a wonderful, comfortable retreat. Situated in a small “neighborhood” of lakefront cottages, you’ll enjoy use of the shared dock, two single kayaks, and hours and hours of swimming, boating and relaxation with your friends and family! As an added bonus, you’re just 1 mile to a couple Acadia hiking trails, 5 minutes to the village of Southwest Harbor and 15 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor.

The cottage is actually two buildings: the main cottage and a fun bunk house connected by a short walkway (kids love this room!)! The main cottage features a lovely screened/ glass enclosed porch with the dining area, a cozy living room, kitchen, and full bathroom (tub and shower). There is a bedroom with a double bed, a bedroom with two twins (daybed and trundle). In the bunk house is, of course, two twin bunk beds! Note: the bunk house is a bit more rustic than the main cottage (kind of “campy”, small, with wood walls).

Amenities include WIFI, microwave, charcoal BBQ, cooling fans, board games, beach chairs, parking for one to two cars. Owner also does provide some paper products like toilet tissue and paper towels. NOTE: there is no washer/dryer, dishwasher, cable/satellite TV or phone (though cell service is much improved in this area).

Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park offer a multitude of activities, including whale watch tours, lighthouse tours, hiking, biking, kayaking, museum tours, gardens and of course fine dining and plenty of delicious seafood!
