Sunset Haven by-the-Sea
Sunset Haven by-the-Sea is a new oceanfront cottage in Bar Harbor! Three acres of private, wooded property provide a special retreat for your family and friends. The cottage enjoys wonderful water views from many rooms, including views of Thomas Bay, views of Thompson Island and views of a lovely little inner cove (where a heron has been spotted). Located on a private road out of the downtown Bar Harbor area, Sunset Haven by-the-Sea enjoys nearly 200 feet of private shorefront! There are ledges and rocks during most of the tide cycle, and even a small beach area—a good spot to launch your kayaks from or treat yourself to a refreshing swim! This property is also just 400 feet from a bald eagles nest. Daily sightings of eagles are not uncommon. Sunset Haven by-the-Sea offers a truly exceptional Maine vacation experience.
This lovely two story “cottage” is stylishly decorated. The main floor features the living room, dining room, kitchen, king bedroom and bathroom with shower. There are two decks off the main floor!
The 2nd floor features the master king bedroom, one other king bedroom, two queen bedrooms, each with an additional twin bed (one has a private bath), and 3rd bathroom (tub/shower). Sleeps 12 guests.
Most of the rooms will enjoy water views! The lovely covered, porch/deck provides pleasant outdoor space.
The shore offers ledges for sitting, some beachy area for sea shell searches, great swimming spots, and easy places to launch kayaks/canoes.
Amenities include 7 cable TVs, dishwasher, washer/dryer, A/C units in bedrooms, heat pump A/C in living room, outdoor fire pit, WIFI, BBQ.
Downtown Bar Harbor is about 15 minutes away. You can also catch the free Island Explorer bus (check exploreacadia.com for this year’s route) that may run by the end of the road. The main entrance to Acadia National Park is just 12 minutes away. Enjoy hiking, biking, kayaking, golf, tennis, boating, nature walks, beaching, deep sea fishing, whale watching, museums, shopping and, of course, terrific dining choices, including The Chart Room in Hulls Cove (owned by Sunset Haven by-the-Sea’s owners!) is a great place for surf n’ turf, and traditional shore dinners.
