The Pond House
A gorgeous two-unit property, located in the historic village of Somesville, Seaward and The Pond House each offer a lovely, comfortable living space for your visit to Mount Desert Island and Acadia. Seaward has views of the water. Both are walkable to the lovely Mill Pond and historic “bridge” and Selectman’s building. Echo Lake is just 5 minutes away, as are several hiking trails. Long Pond, great for kayaking and swimming, is also a 5 minute drive away! Either or both of these units will make for a pleasant, centrally located home base for your Acadia vacation!
Seaward is the larger apartment, with 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. On the first floor It features an elegant kitchen, dining area, spacious living room area with a gas fireplace, den/TV room, a queen bedroom and twins bedroom. Two king bedrooms are on the 2nd floor. All 4 bedrooms feature en suite bathrooms. There is an expansive lawn going all the way down to the Mill Pond in the center of the village of Somesville!
The Pond House is smaller, cozier, with a kitchen/dining area, living room, and queen bedroom on the first floor (with an en suite bathroom). There is one other full bathroom on the first floor. Another queen bedroom and twins bedroom, are on the 2nd floor. There is plenty of porch space and side yard space for kids at play!
Both have full amenities: WIFI, gas BBQ grill, flat screen TVs with cable, DVD player, washer/dryer, dishwasher, generator. Both units have “heat pump” A/C in nearly all rooms. Either is a perfect property for a family vacation. Enjoy close proximity to Long Pond, Echo Lake, Beech Hill Mountain. Just 8 minutes to the Acadia National Park Loop Road, and 10 minutes to downtown Bar Harbor, Northeast Harbor, or Southwest Harbor!
Lots to enjoy while here: whale watch tours, wonderful lobster dining, shopping, deep sea fishing, kayaking, scenic tours! In Acadia you will enjoy nature walks, lake fishing, hiking swimming and beaching. Mountains, ocean, lakes, and parks are all at your fingertips.
